Leave a Legacy Through Planned Giving
Your legacy can impact countless lives at the Tampa YMCA. Most donations support scholarships for memberships and programs like summer camp, before & after school care, and swim lessons—making the Y accessible for all. Planned gifts also help maintain facilities, ensuring the Y remains a strong and welcoming place for generations to come.
Help the Tampa Y continue our cause-driven mission well into the future by planning your gift and receiving a financial benefit. Planned gifts enable you to arrange contributions in ways that maximize your personal objectives while minimizing your after-tax cost.
Your bequest or beneficiary designation for the Tampa Y in your will, trust, retirement plan or life insurance policy is a gift that will keep giving and making a positive impact in the community. Support the mission and programs that you believe in long after your lifetime. Together, we can strengthen our community for generations.
Planned Gifts
You can make plans now for a future gift to the Tampa YMCA by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust. The Impact of Your Donation
Many donors who plan gifts to the Y choose a location or program they have a personal connection to.
Programs like summer camp, youth sports and Before & After School Enrichment at the YMCA often need funds to offer scholarships to individuals and families. The Tampa Y also offers scholarship for memberships for community members to join the Y and engage in exercise, swimming, child watch while parents work out or socialize and more.
Some donors wish to provide children with the same summer camp opportunities their family received. Others give to swim programs to help people of all ages learn important, life-saving swim techniques.
If it's important to you to give back to an organization that impacts your community, the Tampa Y is an organization of people who are welcoming, supportive and kind. If the Y has made an impact on your life, consider giving the same opportunities to future generations so we all can be happier, healthier and connected to one another.
Work with your professional advisors to determine the best planned giving options for you, your family and your philanthropic intentions.
Planned Giving Opportunities
Include the Tampa Y in your will or living trust for a flexible way to ensure we can continue our work for years to come. When you include a bequest to the Tampa Y in your will or living trust, your gift also entitles your estate to an unlimited federal estate tax charitable deduction.
One of the most simple ways to include the Y as a legacy gift is naming the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA in your assets including retirement plans and life insurance policies. Another benefit of beneficiary designations is the flexibility; donors can update their contributions at any time.
Another option to consider is giving real estate to the Tampa YMCA. After owning a property for more than one year, donors can avoid capital gains tax, maintenance costs, property taxes and more. As a bonus, donors can avoid selling the real estate with this straightforward, mutually beneficial option.
Memorials and Tribute Gifts
Gifts to the Tampa YMCA in memory or tribute of loved is a way to honor their impact and connection with the Y. Often times, families request donations to their honorary fund be made in lieu of flowers. Gifts to your fund will be a lasting tribute to your loved one and make a difference in our community.
