Volunteer at the YMCA

As a cause-driven charity, the Tampa Y relies heavily on the support of volunteers to help coach youth and adult sports teams, plan local events, raise funds and handle hundreds of other key responsibilities.

Although you may volunteer your time for many reasons, the Tampa Y understands your primary motivation is to give back in a significant way to your local community. For this reason, we are committed to the long-term training and development of volunteers to become meaningfully integrated into our YMCA programs and operations. The Y is also a great place for teens to volunteer and earn hours towards Florida graduation requirements and scholarship opportunities.

All volunteers must complete a volunteer application, background screening and Child Abuse Prevention Training. Check the schedule for volunteer opportunities near you with the link below!

YMCA Advisory Board Volunteer Opportunities

Each Tampa YMCA center has an Advisory Board comprised of volunteers.

We are looking for individuals to serve on the board who have a strong passion for strengthening our communities and helping guide our Y’s leadership team in fulfilling the Tampa YMCA’s Strategic Plan initiatives.

Tampa YMCA Advisory Board members work to share the impact of the Y, build key relationships in the community, support and actively engage in fundraising and support their Y’s leadership team.

If you or someone you know are interested in finding out more about becoming an Advisory Board member, please contact Candace Culver, Senior Vice President, Community Partnerships at Candace.Culver@TampaYMCA.org.
