The Brzezinski Family is Building Community One Splash at a Time
Tom and Colleen Brzezinski are long-time friends, advocates and supporters of the Tampa YMCA. Their family’s connection to the Y runs deep. When their children were young, the Brzezinski kids participated in YMCA programs and even worked at the Y during their high school and college years, building lifelong ties to the organization.
In 2018, Colleen was diagnosed with breast cancer and turned to the YMCA for strength and support, enrolling in our YMCA Cancer Survivorship and Wellness Program Powered by Moffitt, formerly known as LIVESTRONG. The program became an important part of her healing journey, reinforcing the Y’s role as a place of wellness, community and hope.
Today, Tom and Colleen are active members who regularly work out at both the West Park Express YMCA and the Northwest Hillsborough Family YMCA. Tom also gives back his time and leadership as a member of the Tampa YMCA Governance Board.
Continuing their philanthropic journey and commitment to strengthening their community, the Brzezinski’s have generously funded the renovation of the Northwest Hillsborough Family YMCA pool deck. These exciting upgrades include:
- A brand-new slide
- Refreshed splash pad features
- Two new pool heaters
- A fully resurfaced and resealed pool and pool deck
Their generosity ensures families across the community can enjoy a safer, more welcoming and more vibrant space to swim, play and connect for years to come.
The pool was temporarily closed over the holidays to complete these exciting renovations and officially reopened to members on Monday, January 12. An official ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration will be announced soon. Stay tuned!
