From Dealership to Dedication-Steve Hurley Receives Plant City Strong Leader Award

Across our YMCA Association, we’re fortunate to have countless servant leaders who go above and beyond to bring our mission to life. Each August, the Plant City Family YMCA pauses to reflect and recognize one outstanding community member who embodies that spirit. This year, we’re proud to honor Steve Hurley with that distinction.
“Steve demonstrates a strong commitment to the Plant City community and understands the important role businesses can have in supporting nonprofits and individuals in need,” said Theresa Sessions, Executive Director at the Plant City Family YMCA.
“He is well deserving of being named Strong Leader for the continued effort and leadership he provides to the Plant City community. Steve’s impact and contribution in making Plant City better for everyone is immeasurable.”
When it comes to community support in Plant City, Steve Hurley is a name that stands out. As the owner of Stingray Chevrolet, Steve’s entrepreneurial success is rivaled only by his unwavering dedication to giving back. Since opening in 2008, Stingray Chevrolet has become one of the top 10 Corvette dealers in the nation for 15 consecutive years and is recognized as a leading GM Fleet, Commercial and Parts provider in Florida.
But Steve’s impact goes far beyond the automotive world. Together with his wife, Susan, Steve has donated 16 vehicles for the Stingray New Vehicle Raffle, generating more than $3.5 million for Unity in the Community, a nonprofit collective that supports over 60 local organizations, including the Plant City Family YMCA. In addition, he’s donated at least seven vehicles directly to individuals in need, including several single mothers.
Steve also serves on the Plant City Economic Development Corporation Board, where he is a founding member and former chair and remains actively involved with Unity in the Community, continuing his commitment to strengthening the city he calls home.
We thank Steve Hurley for his unwavering dedication to our community and congratulate him once again on being named this year’s Strong Leader, a truly well-deserved honor!
