Employee Assistance Program (BayCare)
How does the EAP work?
As a Tampa YMCA associate you have access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offered from Bay Care. Please feel free to contact them at 800.878.5470 or BayCareEap@baycare.org. Social distancing, working from home, and children out of school can take a toll on our emotional wellbeing. This is a free and confidential counseling service available with more than 100 therapists in our network ready to offer phone and virtual counseling.

Applying for Unemployment Benefits
Employees are eligible to apply for unemployment benefits due to a reduction of work because of the coronavirus. Please review the documents below to aid you in applying for unemployment.
How to apply for unemployment: The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity is currently experience higher than average volume. There are two ways you can apply:
- Apply Online. This is preferred, if available.
- Apply via mail. Download the application and mail to the address on the form. FedEx is offering free printing and mailing of Reemployment Assistance paper applications at over 100 storefronts across the state.
Important information you need to apply:
- Proof letter for unemployment: You received a letter from your supervisor or email letter from Lisa Sankowski to use for supporting documentation. If you need additional copies please contact helpdesk.hr@tampaymca.org.
- Information to use in order to fill out the application:

YMCA Retirement Fund Resources
YMCA Retirement Fund continues to communicate with Fund participants during this crisis, and recommends updating your profile to ensure you remain connected.

- Please note that the Fund's 403(b) Smart Account is not a traditional savings account, but a retirement savings account, so the timing of accessing the funds in this account will be different from a standard savings account at a financial institution.

Additional Helpful Resources
The Employee Relief Fund is intended to provide team members, primarily part-time staff who are currently not working and not getting paid and full-time with reduced hours, access to financial resources designated to support immediate and essential needs, primarily housing, food, medical and transportation. To apply for funds, download this PDF and submit completed form to erf@tampaymca.org and we will process the request. All requests for funding will be responded to within one week.
