YMCA 2024 Weather Updates

August 6, 2024 - 11am
The Spurlino Family YMCA will open today, Tuesday, August 6th. Please enter and exit, with caution, using Old Big Bend Road only. Our Stay & Play will open at 4pm. The pool, aquatics programming - including swim lessons - and our group exercise classes will resume their normal schedule starting at noon.
Thank you for your patience as we finalize our assessments and ensure our Y is safe for all.
August 5, 2024 - 5:30pm
The Spurlino YMCA is closed. The water levels in the parking lot have not receded and Hillsborough County has closed the roads leading to our YMCA as they expect the water levels to rise overnight.
At this time, the plan is to reopen the Spurlino Family YMCA at 12pm tomorrow, August 6th subject to the roads reopening and after an assessment of water damage.
Due to this updated information, we will not be able to run Kids' Day Out at this location, but your child(ren) will be able to attend the program at any of our other YMCA family centers.
Those with children scheduled to attend our Kids' Day Out program tomorrow, be on the lookout for an email with more details and assistance.
We understand this closure has caused some frustration, and we thank you for your patience as we ensure the safety of our members, staff and program participants.
As a reminder, all Tampa YMCA members have access to all of our Tampa Metropolitan Area locations. Our Campo Family YMCA in Valrico and our North Brandon Y off of Kingsway Rd. in Brandon are the closest to our Y. Click here for a map of all locations.

The Spurlino Family YMCA is temporarily CLOSED and will remain closed for the remainder of the day. The creek adjacent to the Y that handles a significant amount of overflow from the region is flooding into the parking lot. We will continue to evaluate the water levels and re-open the Y when the creek and flooding recede. Follow the Spurlino YMCA Facebook for any updates.
All other Tampa YMCA locations are currently open and accessible.
