Thanks so much for joining the Tampa YMCA’s Community Impact Week, sponsored by Regions. To kick off this impactful week, we want to put a spotlight on one of the most profound ways we were able to fill a critical void during this global pandemic. We were fortunate to have our Youth Relief Care for Essential Workers featured on FOX 13’s “What’s Right with Tampa Bay,” check it out!
Impact Story 3
To help reach youth who may be drawn to water, yet more at risk of getting into trouble, the Tampa YMCA’s Mobile Swim and Education program, generously funded by the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, provides free private lessons for children with special needs year-round in the Y’s heated pools. These lessons are designed to assist children who would not be able to learn the basic safety skills in a group setting. With hands-on attention, children learn essential lifesaving skills. The results have been remarkable! WATCH Elle’s journey with this program at the South Tampa Family YMCA. The Y truly appreciates the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County’s generosity…together, we can save more lives!
